NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Cumberland (Tenn.), Georgetown (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) close out the 2016 season ranked inside the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Wednesday.

Lindsey Wilson leads the trio in the postseason poll at No. 2. The Blue Raiders (21-5) received 302 voting points from the national raters after falling 5-4 to Georgia Gwinnett in the national championship match last week in Mobile, Alabama.

NAIA Women's Tennis All-America Teams

COLUMBIA, Ky. – A trio of Mid-South Conference women's tennis student-athletes have been named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-America team, NAIA officials announced on Tuesday.

Cumberland (Tenn.) Angelica Sepulveda, Cumberlands (Ky.) Isabella Dale and Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Jessica King were among 32 student-athletes selected to the two all-America teams.

MOBILE, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team took top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett to the brink, but the Blue Raiders eventually fell in a 5-4 thriller in the NAIA National Championship match on Saturday morning at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The third-seeded Blue Raiders (21-5) gave the Grizzlies (18-2) all they could handle in their first-ever appearance in the national championship final, but Georgia Gwinnett rallied from behind and took the lead when it mattered most, on the final point of the match.

MOBILE, Ala. -- Alex Shchipakina won the final three points of the second-set tiebreak to clinch the decisive point in Lindsey Wilson women's tennis' 5-4 upset of second-seeded Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.) in the national semifinals on Friday at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The third-seeded Blue Raiders (21-4) advance to the program's first NAIA National Championship match, where they will face top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett. First serve is slated for 9 a.m. CT on Saturday.

NAIA Women's Tennis Scholar-Athletes

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Seven Mid-South Conference women's tennis student-athletes earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, NAIA officials announced on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least junior academic status.
