LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Pikeville won the championship of the 2013 Mid-South Conference cheerleading competition, held Wednesday night at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.

In addition it was a big night for Campbellsville University, which won the co-ed stunt competition, the mixed stunt competition and the all-girl stunt competition.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Forty Mid-South Conference cheerleading student-athletes earned Academic All MSC honors, conference officials announced on Wednesday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University's small coed cheerleading squad and Lindsey Wilson College's dance team both won their division at the NAIA East Region Qualifier on Saturday, Feb. 9. The regional win was the first for both programs, as Campbellsville received a silver bid to the NAIA Small Coed Cheer Invitational and LWC received a bronze bid for the NAIA Dance Inviatianal. Both national events will be in Daytona Beach, Fla., April 10-14. The University of the Cumberlands also received a bronze bid for cheerleading as the regional runner-up.

A total of five cheer and dance teams competed in Campbellsville's Powell Athletic Center for a chance to receive a national bid. CU and Cumberlands were the only two teams remaining to compete in the small coed division after Lindsey Wilson College and Bethel University paid their entry but did not compete.

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Campbellsville University captured the 2012 Mid-South Conference Cheerleading Championship tonight at the Frankfort Convention Center.

The conference team title is the third in four years for the Tigers and their fourth in the last six years. Campbellsville also won the title in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
