COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) freshman setter Makenzie Montano is the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

This week's honor is the first handed out by the Mid-South Conference this season.

Tachikara-NAIA Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Georgetown (Ky.) begins the 2014 season ranked in the Tachikara-NAIA Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Tuesday.

Lindsey Wilson is No. 10 in the national poll followed by Georgetown at No. 11.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Mid-South Conference volleyball coaches selected Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) as the preseason favorite to capture the conference's regular season title in 2014, conference officials announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders received 47 voting points -- including five of the eight first-place votes -- from the conference coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Director of Athletics Ron Pavan announced the hiring of Vincennes University's Brittany Harry as the program's new volleyball head coach. Harry officially begins her duties at CU on July 14.

The Champaign, Ill., native has coached the last three seasons at Vincennes, compiling an 88-38 mark with the Trailblazers that included a championship game appearance in the NJCAA District F Tournament in 2012. VU posted a 29-16 mark this past season and was 31-10 in 2012 and 28-12 in 2011. Four players were named All-Region XII, two earned Region XII All-Tournament honors and one garnered Academic All-American accolades.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Long-time Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering has resigned effective June 27, as announced this morning by Director of Athletics Ron Pavan. A national search for Deering's replacement will begin immediately under Pavan's supervision.

Deering just finished his 29th year at his alma mater and 26th as the volleyball head coach, compiling a 513-372 mark with five conference championships (1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997). He was named Coach of the Year five times (1989, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1997) and each of his four-year players received degrees from CU.
