LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson sophomore Takudzwa Mhlanga is the Mid-South Conference Track & Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

The honors are Mhlanga's first this season after he was named the MSC Track & Field Athlete of the Year at the Mid-South Championships on Saturday in Williamsburg, Ky.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- Cumberlands' ended a four-year drought today by claiming the Mid-South Conference championships today at James H. Taylor II Stadium on Cumberlands' campus.

The team championship is the third in the program's history. Cumberlands won the first two MSC championships in 2006 and 2007.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Cumberlands men's track & field team and the Campbellsville and Cumberlands women's track & field teams lead after the first day of the Mid-South Conference Championships hosted at James H. Taylor II Stadium on Cumberlands' campus.

The Patriot men scored 78 points to lead the nine-team field followed by Lindsey Wilson's 30.5 points.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Twenty-nine Mid-South Conference men's track & field student-athletes earned Academic All MSC honors, conference officials announced on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

2013 MSC Track & Field Championships Schedule

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- University of the Cumberlands is the host of the 2013 Mid-South Conference Track and Field Championships this weekend at James H. Taylor, II Stadium in Williamsburg, Ky.

The meet will be held on Friday and Saturday April 26-27. Friday's competition begins at 9 a.m. ET with events to resume at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
