COLUMBIA, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) is projected to win the 2016-17 Mid-South Conference Men's Golf regular-season championship, according to the coaches' preseason poll, the conference office announced on Thursday.

The Patriots received 36 total points in the poll and six of the seven first-place votes. Last season, Cumberlands swept the regular season and tournament championships. The Patriots finished ninth at the NAIA National Championships in May.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Golf programs have built themselves a reputation throughout the Mid-South Conference (MSC) and the NAIA as one of the elite teams in the country.  Numerous conference titles along with appearances in the NAIA National Championship Tournaments have been frequent throughout the last eight and a half years under the coaching of Chris Kraftick.  Now as Kraftick transitions into the role of Athletic Director at UC, a new man will be at the helm of the Patriot golf programs.  

Taylor Riggs has been named the new Head Coach for the UC Men and Women's Golf programs, Kraftick announced on Thursday.  Riggs comes to Cumberlands from Eastern Kentucky University where he was an assistant coach for the Colonels last season.  While there, the women's team won three tournaments including the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Championship while the men earned one tournament victory.

NAIA Men's Golf Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) finished the 2015-16 season ranked No. 9 in the NAIA Men's Golf Postseason Top 25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Friday.

Cumberland (Tenn.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) each sits outside the top 25, but are receiving voting points from the national raters.

NAIA Men's Golf All-Americans

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Two Mid-South Conference men's golfers have been named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-America team, NAIA officials announced on Wednesday.

Cumberlands (Ky.) Florian Loutre and Cumberland (Tenn.) Ryan Botts earned all-American honors for their play during the 2015-16 season.

SILVIS, Ill. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) men's golf improved one spot over its final round on Friday to finish tied for ninth at the 2016 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships held at TPC Deere Run.

The Patriots concluded the tournament with a team-total 1,201 (295-308-301-297).
