2015 Women's Track & Field Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Fifteen Mid-South Conference women's track & field student-athletes earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, the national office announced on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson's' (Ky.) Renee Hurd is the Mid-South Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week while teammate Kerry Ann Walker is the MSC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

The weekly award is the second for Hurd, while Walker earns her first of the season.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) dominated the final two events today to take home the 2015 Mid-South Conference Women's Track & Field Championships at Blue Raider Stadium at the Lindsey Wilson Sports Complex.

Trailing Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) by a 1/2 point entering the final two events, the Patriots scored 21 points over the final two events to edge the Blue Raiders 244 to 235.5.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Five national qualifying times and a pair of meet records highlighted the first day of the 2015 Mid-South Conference Track & Field Championships at Blue Raider Stadium at the Lindsey Wilson Sports Complex.

Cumberlands (Ky.) men are first after six of 23 events with 68 points. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is second with 53 followed by Shawnee State (Ohio) with 40. On the women's side, Lindsey Wilson leads with 65 points followed by Cumberlands and Campbellsville (Ky.) with 58 and 38 points respectively.

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Forty-eight Mid-South Conference women's track & field student-athletes earned Academic All MSC honors, conference officials announced on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
