VANCOUVER, Wash. – Men's cross country finished its season with a seventh place finish at the National Championship meet and crowned one All-American Saturday afternoon. This marked a two spot improvement in the team's finish from last year's ninth-place finish.
Adam Schroeder became the program's fourth All-American with his 27th-place finish Saturday afternoon. The junior completed the course in 25:13, tying his career best from earlier this season. His time was tied for 14th-quickest all-time in program history. The All-American now owns three of the quickest 20 times in SSU history.
NAIA Men's Cross Country Top-25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Shawnee State University in No. 6 in the final regular season NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Poll released on Sunday by NAIA officials.
The Bears captured the Mid-South Conference championship on Saturday and the conference's automatic bid into the national championships. The NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship is scheduled for Nov. 17 in Vancouver, Wash.
RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- RESULTS It was another dominating performance today for the No. 6-ranked Shawnee State University men's cross country team at the Mid-South Conference Championships hosted by University of Rio Grande.
Shawnee State finished with 29 team points after six Bears earned top-10 finishes in the race. University of the Cumberlands finished second with 62 points and Rio Grande ended in third with 78 points.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Nineteen Mid-South Conference men's cross country student-athletes earned Academic All MSC honors, conference officials announced on Saturday.
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The 2012 Mid-South Conference Men and Women's Cross Country Championships will be contested on Saturday on the campus of University of Rio Grande.
The men's championship begins at 10:15 a.m. ET with the women to follow at 11:15 a.m. ET at the Rio Grande Athletic Fields on the Rio Grande campus.
