LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University Director of Athletics Ron Pavan announced the hiring of Norman Kalkhoff as the tennis coach for the Phoenix. Kalkhoff brings more than 25 years of experience coaching at the high, collegiate and club levels.

The Charlestown, Indiana, native spent six years (1990-95) as head coach at the University of the South and worked as a teacher, basketball and tennis coach for 15 years at Battle Ground Academy in Nashville. Kalkhoff has also worked for the last six years as Assistant Pro at Nashville Village Athletic Club, overseeing operations of the club and teaching lessons as well as coordinating clinics for all ages.

NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Four Mid-South Conference teams are ranked in the postseason version of the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll, NAIA officials announced on Wednesday.

No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) leads the way for the MSC quartet after reaching the national semifinals at the national championship last week in Mobile, Alabama.

NAIA Men's Tennis All-America Teams

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Six Mid-South Conference men's tennis student-athletes have been named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-America team, NAIA officials announced on Tuesday.

Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Denis Porcic -- the MSC Player of the Year -- was selected all-America first team.

MOBILE, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team finally saw their season come to an end in the NAIA National Championship Semifinal Round as the Blue Raiders fell 5-3 to third-seeded Xavier (La.) on Friday evening at the Mobile Tennis Center.

Making the program's first-ever appearance in the national semifinals, the No. 7-ranked Blue Raiders (17-4) fell behind 2-1 to the Gold Rush (17-7) after doubles play, and despite battling back to tie the match multiple times in singles action, eventually fell 5-3.

NAIA Men's Tennis Scholar-Athletes

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Eight Mid-South Conference men's tennis student-athletes earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, NAIA officials announced on Friday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least junior academic status.
