    RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Shane Spies' final season in a University of Rio Grande baseball uniform turned out to be a special one after all.
    The senior left fielder has been named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2013 Baseball All-America first team by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Selection Committee.
    The 17-player first- and second team lists, as well as 35 honorable mention selections were announced Monday afternoon by the NAIA national office in Kansas City, Mo.
    Spies becomes just the second first team baseball All-American in Rio Grande history, joining Tyler Schunk, who turned the trick in 2010.

MASON, Ohio -- Four games down, two to go. That's the mantra of the Campbellsville University baseball team after sweeping Pool B in the NCCAA World Series with a pair of wins Wednesday and two more Thursday at Legacy Field and Prasco Park.

Campbellsville (39-19), the No. 2 seed, blew past Emmanuel College, 11-1, in its first game Wednesday and then held off held off a seventh-inning rallys by Olivet Nazarene, 3-2, Wednesday night and Covenant College, 5-3 on Thursday. CU won the pool by pushing past No. 3 seed Arizona Christian University, 4-3.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- After three straight elimination-game wins, Lindsey Wilson baseball's magical run ended with a 6-5 loss to top-seeded and host Embry-Riddle (Fla.) at the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round at Sliwa Stadium.

The Blue Raiders end their season at 45-19. Embry-Riddle advances to the 2013 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho with tonight's win.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Russ Morse delivered a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth to lift Lindsey Wilson baseball to a 2-1 win over Concordia (Calif.) at the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round at Sliwa Stadium.

The Blue Raiders (45-18) advance into the first of potentially two championship games of the Daytona Beach Bracket against the host Embry-Riddle (Fla.). First pitch is set for 5 p.m. CT.

JOLIET, Ill. – Judson University's Josh Raymond led off the 10th inning with a single and Mark DeYoung followed with an RBI double, plating the winning run for a 4-3 victory over 13th-ranked Cumberland in an elimination game here Saturday morning in the NAIA Championship Opening Round at Silver Cross Field.

Cumberland's season ends with the loss, dropping a pair of games to Judson in the tournament and all three contests against the Eagles this season. Brodie Ross' two-out, two-strike single in the ninth scored Cory Urquhart with the tying run, sending it to extra innings.
