COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson baseball standout Scott Sebald has signed a free agent contract with the Arizona League Rangers, a minor league affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

The 6-foot-5, left-handed hurler from Cincinnati, Ohio joins the Rangers in rookie ball of the 14-team Arizona League. The Rangers compete in the West Division along with affiliates of the Mariners, Royals and Padres.

NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished the 2016 season ranked in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Postseason Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Wednesday.

Lindsey Wilson made the biggest jump in the year-end poll, leaping from outside the top 25 to No. 6 after reaching its second straight NAIA World Series. The Blue Raiders (44-25) received 335 voting points from the national raters.

NAIA Baseball All-America Team

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Campbellsville (Ky.) senior Jake Pannunzio earned NAIA Baseball All-American honors, NAIA officials announced on Tuesday.

St. Catharine's Alfredo Bohorquez is the other MSC baseball student-athlete to earn a national mention, earning honorable mention honors.

Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar Athletes

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Sixteen Mid-South Conference baseball student-athletes earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, NAIA officials announced on Wednesday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least junior academic status.

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team saw their 2016 season finally come to an end on Tuesday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to Bellevue (Neb.) in the Avista-NAIA World Series.

After slugging out 15 runs on 15 hits in an elimination-game victory yesterday against Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.), the Blue Raider (44-25) offense was never able to find a consistent rhythm at the plate against the third-seeded and No. 2-ranked Bruins (53-11). Lindsey Wilson managed just one run on five hits as they were unable to fight off elimination for the second day in a row.
