NAIA Football Coaches' Postseason Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Four Mid-South Conference teams close the books on the 2014 season with a ranking in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Football Coaches' Postseason Top 25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) leads all Mid-South teams at No. 7 -- the highest final ranking in the program's history. The Blue Raiders (10-3) received 197 voting points from the 12 national raters after reaching the Football Championship Series Quarterfinals and winning the Mid-South East Division in 2014.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Forty-six Mid-South Conference football student-athletes have been named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, NAIA officials announced on Thursday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least junior academic status.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- A quartet of Mid-South Conference football student-athletes were named 2014 American Football Coaches Association-National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American, AFCA officials announced on Tuesday.

Twenty-five players from across the NAIA earned first-team honors while additional 25 were selected to the second team. The All-American teams are selected by the AFCA-NAIA All-America Committee.

GRAYSON, Ky. -- Kentucky Christian senior linebacker Andrew Stewart is a finalist for the 2014 Cliff Harris Award, the Little Rock Touchdown Club and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP officials announced on Tuesday.

The award -- in its second season -- is presented to the nation's top small college defensive player representing more than 5,000 defensive players from almost 500 NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA colleges and universities, according to cliffharrisaward.com.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland's Mike Self is one of 10 finalists named this week for the 2014 Fred Mitchell Award, which is provided to the Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, NAIA or NJCAA place-kicker that excels on the football field and in the community.

The place-kicker chosen for this award will be announced on December 18 will be honored on February 16, 2015, at the National Football Foundation Chicago Chapter Awards Ceremony at Halas Hall in suburban Chicago.
