GRAYSON, Ky. -- Kentucky Christian senior linebacker Andrew Stewart is a finalist for the 2014 Cliff Harris Award, the Little Rock Touchdown Club and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP officials announced on Tuesday.

The award -- in its second season -- is presented to the nation's top small college defensive player representing more than 5,000 defensive players from almost 500 NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA colleges and universities, according to cliffharrisaward.com.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland's Mike Self is one of 10 finalists named this week for the 2014 Fred Mitchell Award, which is provided to the Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, NAIA or NJCAA place-kicker that excels on the football field and in the community.

The place-kicker chosen for this award will be announced on December 18 will be honored on February 16, 2015, at the National Football Foundation Chicago Chapter Awards Ceremony at Halas Hall in suburban Chicago. COLUMBIA, Ky.  – Lindsey Wilson College head football coach Chris Oliver was named American Football Coaches Association 2014 NAIA Region 1 Coach of the Year, AFCA officials announced Monday.

The regional coach of the year award is the third for Oliver and second straight. Oliver shared the award in 2011.

CHICAGO -- No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) football team's season ended on Saturday with a 30-17 loss to host and third-ranked Saint Xavier (Ill.) in the Football Championship Series Quarterfinals at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field.

A pair of Lindsey Wilson (10-3) turnovers deep inside Saint Xavier territory halted potential scoring drives and ultimately cost the Blue Raiders a chance at the upset.

CHICAGO – Campbellsville University had two late opportunities Saturday but was unable to reclaim its lead late in a 38-35 loss at No. 3 Saint Xavier University in the NAIA Football Championship Series First Round.

The loss ends Campbellsville's season at 7-4 after a historic turnaround from a 3-7 last season to win the Mid-South Conference West Division and earn its first NAIA postseason bid in 13 years.
