KHSAA Announcement

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) announced its 2015 Hall of Fame class and University of Pikeville head football coach Dudley Hilton is among those listed for the March 21, 2015 ceremony at the Lexington Convention Center.

The inductees will also be honored during the semifinals of the 2015 KHSAA Boy's Basketball Sweep 16 in Rupp Arena. The 10-member class brings the hall's total to 433 members.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Charlie Boren has been named Faulkner's new head football, the university announced Monday afternoon. Boren, the assistant head coach the past two seasons, replaces Brent Barker, who resigned last week to accept a position in his home state of Texas.

Boren joined the staff when Barker took over prior to the 2012 season, and the Eagles' program has made great strides since. The 2012 team posted Faulkner's first winning record at 6-5, and last year's team went 9-3 en route to the Mid-South Conference West Division championship and the a berth in the NAIA playoffs. Prior to 2012, the Eagles had a combined 10-41 record in five seasons of intercollegiate competition.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Five former Mid-South Conference football student-athletes will attend rookie minicamps in the hopes of making a National Football League roster this fall.

Belhaven's (Miss.) Matt Hall, Bethel's (Tenn.) Jocquel Skinner, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Terrance Cobb and Albert Huntley and Pikeville's (Ky.) Nu'Keese Richardson all either signed a free agent contract or has been invited to participate in a NFL team's minicamp.

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College Director of Athletics Tim Curry announced the hiring of Zak Willis as Union College's new head football coach on Thursday, becoming the 11th person to hold the post in program history.

NAIA Football Coaches' Spring Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Five Mid-South Conference teams are ranked in the NAIA Football Coaches' Spring Top 25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

Cumberlands (Ky.) -- the 2013 national runner-up -- leads the Mid-South teams with a No. 3 national ranking. The Patriots (13-1 in 2013) received 262 voting points from the national raters.
