COLUMBIA, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) is the favorite to capture the 2017-18 Mid-South Conference Women's Golf regular-season championship, conference officials announced on Wednesday with the release of the coaches' preseason poll.

The Patriots received 35 voting points, including five of the seven first-place votes. Cumberlands won both the regular season and tournament titles in the MSC in 2016-17. The Patriots have won eight straight regular-season crowns and six consecutive tournament titles.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Director of Athletics Jim Hardy has announced the hiring of a pair of former Lady Tigers to lead the women's golf program. Cassidy Scantland Decker and Ashley Goodin were hired on Thursday, Aug. 10.

The duo will take over for Terry Grider and Lauren Willis. Grider has stepped away due to family reasons and Willis welcomed twins into the world last year and is a full-time professor in the human performance department at CU.

NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Postseason Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Three teams from the Mid-South Conference are ranked in the postseason edition of the NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Friday.

Cumberlands (Ky.), Campbellsville (Ky.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) are all ranked in the top 25.

NAIA Women's Golf All-Americans

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville's (Ky.) Cassidy Scantland and Cumberlands' (Ky.) Kaitlyn Riley were selected at NAIA Third Team All-Americans, the national office announced on Wednesday.

This marks the second-straight season both Riley and Scantland have been selected as women's golf All-Americans. Last year, Riley was a first team honoree, while Scantland was placed on the third team.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Cumberlands (Ky.) finished 12th overall after the final round of the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship on Friday at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The Patriots posted a 35-over par 335 during the final round of the 54-hole tournament. Over the three days Cumberlands compiled a score of 111-over par 975 to finish 12th overall in the field.
