PRESS RELEASE August 16, 2006 LINDSEY WILSON RATED 7TH PRESS RELEASE August 10, 2006 FOR MSC WOMEN'S SOCCER Lindsey Wilson College has been named as the favorite by the coaches Mid-South Conference to win the 2006 Season Women's Soccer Championship. The Blue Raiders (16-5-1 in 2005), the defending regular season and conference tournament champions, received 25 points and 5 first-place votes. Georgetown College (13-7-0) captured second place in the poll with 19 points and had 1 first-place vote. Campbellsville University and the University of the Cumberlands tied for third with 16 points each. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. The Mid-South Conference Championship is scheduled to begin Saturday, October 28 with play-in games at campus sites, with the tournament finals being held October 30 & 31 on the campus of Lindsey Wilson in Columbia, Kentucky. Pikeville College 6 PRESS RELEASE September 16, 2005 LINDSEY WILSON RATED PRESS RELEASE August 25, 2005 LINDSEY WILSON RATED FIRST Press Release August 4, 2005 FOR MSC WOMEN'S SOCCER Lindsey Wilson College has been named as the favorite by the coaches Mid-South Conference to win the 2005 Season Women's Soccer Championship. The Blue Raiders (19-0-6 in 2004), the defending co-regular season and conference tournament champions, received 25 points and 5 first-place votes. Lindsey Wilson also won the NAIA national champion last season, besting Concordia College (Oregon) 2-0 in the championship game. Georgetown College (14-4-2) captured second place in the poll with 19 points and had 1 first-place vote. Georgetown shared the regular season MSC title with Lindsey Wilson in 2004. The University of the Cumberlands was ranked third in the poll with 17 points. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. The Mid-South Conference Championship is scheduled to begin October 29 with play-in games at campus sites, with the tournament finals being held October 31 & November 1 on the campus of Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. The Blue Raiders (25-2 overall, 4-0 MSC in 2003), the defending regular season and conference tournament champions, received 16 points and 4 first-place votes. Lindsey Wilson was also the national runner-up in last season's NAIA championship game, falling 2-1 in 7 overtimes to Westmont. Cumberland College (8-10, 3-1) was voted in second place with 13 points and had 1 first place vote. Georgetown College (11-7, 2-2) was third in the balloting with 10 points. Cumberland finished in second place during the regular season in 2003, while Georgetown was second in the conference tournament. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. The Mid-South Conference Championship is scheduled for November 1-3, and will be held on the campus of Lindsey Wilson in Columbia, Kentucky.
