Championship Game Recap:
April 29 -- Jeffersontown, Ky. -- Campbellsville University won the 2006 MSC Softball Tournament on
Saturday afternoon, winning 3-2 over the University of the Cumberlands at Jeffersontown High School.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning, Campbellsville struck twice in the 4th when Amanda Nuyt tripled to drive in a run and then scored herself via a Cumberlands error on
the next play, giving CU a 3-0 lead.
Cumberlands tallied twice in the 5th inning when Sabrina McCullough hit a 2-run homer over the left field
fence. Campbellsville pitcher Kelly Vooris was able to keep Cumberlands from scoring after that, going the distance for the win.
Both Campbellsville and Cumberlands will advance to the NAIA Region XI Tournament which will be played May 11 & 12, also
at Jeffersontown High School.
