MSC Scholar Athlete of the Year Awards

CLEMENZ & ROBERTS HONORED
AS MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE
SCHOLAR ATHLETES OF THE YEAR

Anna Clemenz and Carl Roberts, both of the University of the Cumberlands, have been selected as the 2006-07 Mid-South Conference Female & Male Scholar Athletes of the Year. This honor is decided by vote of the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives and announced by Commissioner Mike Pollio.

Clemenz, a four-year starter as an outside hitter for the Cumberlands' Volleyball Team, is a senior from Bellbrook, Ohio. She has a double-major in Business Administration and Psychology and is on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude in May. Anna plans to seek a graduate degree in marketing and work in management at a marketing research firm.

Other nominated women's athletes this year were:  Danielle Hiance of Campbellsville University, Megan French of Georgetown College and Tonya Amburgey from Pikeville College.

Roberts, a four-year participant on the Cumberlands' Cross Country and Track & Field Teams, is a senior from Austin, Indiana. He is an English major and is on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude in May. Carl plans to begin his Master of Arts in Teaching course work immediately after graduation and is considering post masters doctorate work.

Other nominated men's athletes this year were:  Chad Robinson of Campbellsville University, Michael Polly of Georgetown College, Pablo Castanon of Lindsey Wilson College and Benjamin Valentine from Pikeville College.
