DeGEORGE & CREWS SELECTED AS
MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE
SCHOLAR ATHLETES OF THE YEAR


Steven DeGeorge of Cumberland College and Leah Crews of Georgetown College have been selected as the 2004-05 Mid-South Conference Male & Female Scholar Athletes of the Year. This honor is decided by vote of the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives as announced by Commissioner Mike Pollio.


DeGeorge, a three-year starter at goalie for Cumberland's Soccer Team, is a senior from Loudon, Tennessee and is majoring in social work with a minor in philosophy. DeGeorge plans to do graduate work in social work upon his graduation from Cumberland this spring.

Other nominated men's athletes this year were:  Daniel Blake -- Georgetown, David Bradstreet -- Campbellsville, Alex Eaton -- Lindsey Wilson and Ronnie Howard -- Pikeville.


Crews, a four-year goaltender on Georgetown's Soccer Team, is a senior from Hendersonville, Tennessee and is majoring in art with a minor in history. Upon her graduation from Georgetown this spring, Crews plans to attend graduate school to obtain a master's degree in studio art or painting.

Other nomined women's athletes this year were:  Jennifer Noort -- Campbellsville, Trisha Price -- Cumberland, Amy Rice -- Lindsey Wilson and Selena Williams -- Pikeville
