PRESS RELEASE April 30, 2007 6 MSC TEAMS RATED IN # 6 - Bethel # 18 - Georgetown # 25 - Virginia-Wise PRESS RELEASE October 2, 2006 SCHLUETER RECEIVES NAIA PRESS RELEASE September 25, 2006 MORGAN, CARTER RECEIVE PRESS RELEASE August 16, 2006 5 MSC TEAMS RATED IN PRESS RELEASE July 25, 2006 FOR MSC FOOTBALL DIVISIONS The football coaches of the Mid-South Conference have chosen Georgetown College and Bethel College as their picks to win the MSC East and West Division football titles this fall, respectively. The voting was done recently as the Mid-South held its annual meeting at Georgetown College. Mid-South Football will again be playing in two six-team divisions this fall. West Virginia Tech has joined the Mid-South as a full member and will play football in the East Division. Shorter College will move to the West Division to replace Kentucky Wesleyan. Lambuth University will continue to play in the MSC as a football member only. Georgetown captured 5 first place votes on the East Division ballot for a total of 25 points. The Tigers are coming off a season of 9-3, 8-0 in conference play and 5-0 in the East Division.University of the Cumberlands (8-3, 6-2, 3-2), got the second place nod with 20 points and 1 first place vote. Union College (4-6, 4-4, 3-2) was third with a total of 16 points. Bethel received 5 first place votes on the West Division ballot for a total of 25 points. Last season, the Wildcats were 7-4 overall, 6-2 in conference play, and 5-0 in the West Division. Lambuth University (5-6, 5-3, 3-2) was second in the voting with 21 points and had 1 first place vote. Belhaven College (5-6, 4-4, 3-2) was third with 16 points. Each Mid-South school will play 5 games against all other teams in its own division, and 3 games against teams in the other division. Of the 8 conference games, 4 games will be at home, 4 games will be on the road. The results of the poll are as follows, listed by school, 2005 final overall record, poll points and first place votes, with teams getting 5 points for a first place vote, down to one point for 5th. Five games will be against all other teams in its own division and three games will be against teams in the other division. Each division's standings will be based only on a team's record against the other five teams from its own division. PRESS RELEASE August 17, 2005 5 MSC TEAMS RATED IN PRESS RELEASE July 26, 2005 FOR MSC FOOTBALL DIVISIONS The coaches of the Mid-South Conference have chosen Georgetown College and Lambuth University as their picks to win the MSC football East and West Division titles this fall. The voting done recently as the Mid-South held its annual meeting at the University of the Cumberlands. The Mid-South will be playing in two 6-team divisions this fall with the addition of Shorter College to the league. Each divisional champion will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Playoffs. Georgetown captured 4 of 6 first place votes on the East Division ballot with a total of 24 points. The Tigers are coming off a season of 12-1, 10-0 in MSC play. University of the Cumberlands (formerly Cumberland College) (8-3, 7-3) got the second place nod with 22 points and 2 first place votes. Pikeville College (8-3, 8-2) was third with a total of 17 points. Lambuth received 3 first place votes on the West Division ballot for a total of 23 points. The Eagles were 8-3, 7-2 in MSC play in 2004, finishing in fourth place. Campbellsville University (6-5, 5-5) was second in the voting with 21 points and had 2 first place votes. Bethel College (5-7, 5-5) was third with 19 points and 1 first place vote. Each Mid-South school will play a total of 8 conference games this season. 5 will be against all other teams in its own division, and 3 against teams in the other division. 4 games will be at home, 4 games will be on the road.
