KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Campbellsville University junior forward Whitney Ballinger was selected as the NAIA Co-Player of the Year by the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Association All-American committee. The All-American teams were released tonight by the NAIA. Ballinger -- who shared the award with Vanguard (Calif.) University's Bridgette Reyes -- averaged 21.5 points and 11.6 rebounds per game while leading the Lady Tigers to the Mid-South Conference regular season title and a berth into the national tournament's quarterfinals. Last week, Ballinger was named the State Farm/WBCA Player of the Year and earlier this month Mid-South Conference Player of the Year. Campbellsville's Courtney Danis, University of the Cumberlands' Lauren Wombles, Georgetown College's Kourtney Tyra, Lindsey Wilson College's Viktoria Krell and Pikeville College's Natiera Hinton were named honorable mention All-American.
