LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- St. Catharine College's Philip Dean and Lindsey Wilson College's Derek Cape are the Mid-South Conference Baseball Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Dean earns his first MSC Player of the Week award of the season, while Cape earns his second straight MSC Pitcher of the Week honor. Dean batted .429 with four doubles and nine runs batted in while helping the Patriots to a 3-1 week. The Danville, Ky., senior, hit safely in three of the four games for St. Catharine, scoring four runs and amassing a .714 slugging percentage. With its three wins this week, St. Catharine improves to 10-9 overall this season. Cape threw his second consecutive complete-game in a 2-1 win over University of Rio Grande. The Columbia, Ky., sophomore, struck out 11 Redstorm batters while allowing just two hits and a walk in his seven innings of work. Cape leads the MSC with a 1.13 earned run average and is tied for the conference lead with three wins. He has allowed just three earned runs in 24 innings of work this season. Lindsey Wilson is 8-7 overall this season. MSC Players of the Week
