FRANKFORT, Ky. - Lauren Martin scored 20 points to lead University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) to an 83-53 victory over Pikeville (Ky.) College on Friday in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.

Sherika Puckett added 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Patriots (24-8) in the win that sends No. 2-seed Cumberlands on to face top-seeded and fifth ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) University in the championship game at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Frankfort Convention Center.

Whitney Compton had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Bears (17-15), while Meagan Johnson and Lauren Potts each added 13 points in the loss.

Cumberlands controlled the boards with authority, outrebounding Pikeville 50-28, including a 26-7 advantage on the offensive glass. The Patriots also shared the ball to the tune of 22 assists, compared to just 10 for Pikeville to put together a 34-18 lead at halftime that expanded to 30 points by the end of the game.

Neither team shot great from the field, with Pikeville holding a slight advantage, 38.0 percent to 37.8 percent. Pikeville also outshot the Patriots from behind the arc, 40.0 percent (8-of-20) to 39.4 percent (13-for-33).

Pikeville never led in the game and trailed by as many as 30 points. Cumberlands held a lead of more than 20 points over the last 10 minutes of the game after opening the game on a 14-2 run in the first half and 10-4 run in the second.
