OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- All five of the Mid-South Conference wrestling teams produced points in the first day of the NAIA Wrestling National Championships held at Abe Lemons Arena.

MSC champion Campbellsville University scored 11.5 points on Thursday and currently sits in 14th place in the event. Three Tigers advanced into the championship bracket while seven others will wrestle today in the consolation bracket.

Cumberland University is 19th after scoring 8.5 points. The Bulldogs send a pair of competitors into the championship bracket and an additional eight wrestlers into the consolation bracket.

University of the Cumberlands recorded seven points for 21st place in the first day. Two Patriots advanced in the championship flight while 10 others compete on Friday in the consolation bracket.

West Virginia University Tech's lone wrestler in the event scored four points before falling into the consolation bracket heading into Friday. The Golden Bears are tied for 27th overall.

Lindsey Wilson College is tied for 30th after scoring two points in day one. All eight of the Blue Raiders wrestles in the consolation bracket on Friday.

Notre Dame (Ohio) College leads the championship with 44 points. Notre Dame has 10 wrestlers in the championship flight and two others in the consolation bracket.

The national championship continues on Friday and concludes on Saturday.
