CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Saturday will be a busy day at Campbellsville University's Gosser Gym when the Tigers host the first-ever Mid-South Conference Wrestling Duals.

In order to be able to hold a conference championship it's required that there be five teams. That wasn't possible until this year when Lindsey Wilson College formed a varsity squad.

Teams from Campbellsville, Lindsey Wilson, Cumberland University, University of the Cumberlands and West Virginia University Tech will complete for the first conference championship.

"We were incredibly happy to add the sport of wrestling to our conference during the summer meetings," MSC Commissioner Mike Pollio said. "Eight months later, we are excited to crown our first-ever conference champion."

Competitions begin at 11 a.m. ET with the weigh-ins beginning at 9 a.m. ET.

Each program will wrestle four separate opponents in team matches and the team with the best score in those head-to-head duals at the end of the day will be determined the winner.

The first-ever event could set up a very competitive MSC Duals as Campbellsville is ranked fourth in the NAIA East Group with squads from Cumberland (Tenn.) University, University (Ky.) of the Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson holding down the sixth, seventh and eighth spots, respectively.

Several individual wrestlers from competing schools hold high East Group rankings:

125 pounds: Campbellsville's Johnny Papesh is rated sixth in the East.

133 pounds: Tommy Pretty and Daphilo Succes, both Campbellsville wrestlers, are rated second and fourth.

141 pounds: Cumberland's Michael Davis is rated No. 1 and his teammate, Neil Birt is No. 4. Campbellsville has a couple of rated wrestlers in this weight division as well with Jacob Murton (3rd) and Matt David (6th).

149 pounds: Campbellsville's Nick Waldrop is rated fifth and Jeff Steele of Cumberlands is sixth.

157 pound: James Casadaban of Cumberland is rated fourth and Campbellsville's Conor Young is sixth.

165 pounds: Campbellsville's James Linker is rated sixth.

174 pounds: Bryan Wells of Campbellsville is rated third and Estil Myers of Cumberland is sixth.

184 pounds: Spencer Adams of Campbellsville and Jason Singley of Cumberlands are rated second and fifth respectively.

197 pounds: Eric Metzier of Cumberland is rated fourth and Campbellsville's Diante Wright is fifth.

285 pounds: Byron Stewart of Cumberland is rated fifth.
