LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University Jeremiah Fennell is the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The weekly conference award is the first of the season for Fennell and the first for a Tiger wrestler.

The Sandusky, Ohio, native, scored the Tigers' first points with a 5-2 decision in the third extra period over McKendree (Ill.) University's Chas Maloch. Maloch is ranked No. 12 in the heavyweight division.

Fennell helped the Tigers nearly pull off the upset of No. 5-ranked McKendree. Campbellsville fell 20-18 in the battle of top-20 teams.

Campbellsville is ranked No. 16 in the today's NAIA Coaches' Top-20.

The Tigers host the Mid-South Conference Duals on Saturday.
