LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University's Whitney Ballinger is the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The award is Ballinger's conference-leading sixth of the season and eighth of her career. Ballinger has been selected for the award for three straight weeks.
In her lone game during the week, the Carrollton, Ky., native poured in 30 points and pulled down 28 rebounds -- tying a school record -- in a 68-65 overtime win over University of the Cumberlands.
Campbellsville's game with St. Catharine College on Saturday was postponed due to heavy snow and was rescheduled for Monday night.
Ballinger connected on 13-of-25 shooting (52 percent) from the field to help the Lady Tigers win the battle of the final two unbeatens in the MSC. Campbellsville leads Cumberlands by 1/2 game in the conference standings and University of Rio Grande by 1-1/2 games entering tonight's game.
The junior center stuffed her stat line by adding four steals, three blocks and two assists in the win.
In the game, Ballinger eclipsed the 30-point plateau for the fifth time this season and recorded her 11th double-double.
No. 9-ranked Campbellsville improved to 20-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play. The Lady Tigers are riding a 13-game winning streak.
