LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- For the fifth time this season, Campbellsville University's Whitney Ballinger is the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The conference announced its weekly basketball awards on Monday.

The Carrollton, Ky., junior center averaged 24.5 points and 14.5 rebounds to earn the honor. It is her seventh player of the week award of her career.

Ballinger helped the Lady Tigers remain perfect in the MSC with a pair of wins during last week's play at Lindsey Wilson College and at home against University of Rio Grande. Campbellsville has won 12 straight games.

Ballinger recorded game-highs with 33 points and 22 rebounds -- which is a career-high -- in the Lady Tigers 83-67 win over Lindsey Wilson. She made 14-of-21 shots, including three for four from beyond the three-point arc.

Two days later, Ballinger scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 80-60 win over the RedStorm.

On the week, Ballinger hit 60.6 percent (20-of-33) from the field. She added 3.5 blocks, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game.

Ballinger enters this week's play second in the MSC in scoring (21.1) and third in rebounding (10.5). She leads the MSC and is fourth in the NAIA averaging 3.3 blocks per game.

With its two wins, Campbellsville improved to 19-1 on the season and remained tied atop the MSC standings at 4-0.

The No. 10-ranked Lady Tigers travel to University of the Cumberlands on Thursday in a battle for first place in the MSC. Campbellsville hosts St. Catharine College on Saturday.
