FRESNO, Calif. -- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's soccer team was aiming to make an appearance in the NAIA National Championship game for a second straight year and for the third time in school history.That mission came to end on Friday night in the semifinals at Ramirez Field.After playing to a scoreless tie, the RedStorm fell short 7-6 on penalty kicks giving The Master's College a place in the final against top-seeded Lindsey Wilson.

Rio Grande (18-3-3), the No. 3 seed in the tournament, is now 0-6 all-time in shootouts in Head Coach Scott Morrissey's tenure.

With Rio behind 7-6 and one kick remaining to extend the shootout, sophomore mid-fielder Neil Harries (Lancashire, England) missed the shot, ending the match and giving the Mustangs the victory.

Josh Hoeft knocked home the deciding shot in the shootout for The Master's (18-2-3).The Mustangs head to their first ever NAIA National Title game as the No. 15 seed.

Rio Grande out-shot The Master's 15-8 with a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.

Rio sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Lower (South Webster, OH) recorded four saves while Mustang goalkeeper Kevin Lawson had a tremendous game notching six saves.
