COLUMBIA, Ky.-- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to post a 2-0 shutout win against Missouri Baptist University in the opening round of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship at Walter S. Reuling Stadium on Saturday. Sophomore Ida Gregersen struck first for the Blue Raiders in the 28th minute with a goal from inside the box off a pass from senior Yolanda Hamilton. Freshman Mia Persson added to the lead in the 51st minute with a charging unassisted goal from the center of the field. Lindsey Wilson outshot Missouri Baptist 4-2 and held a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks. Senior keeper Carrie Revlett finished the game with one save to help secure the shutout. Lindsey Wilson advances to the second round of the national championship to face SouthernNazarene (Okla.) University -- who defeated Texas at Brownsville today 4-1 -- on Monday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. CT at the Jack Allen Recreation Complex in Decatur, Ala. Click here for box score.
