LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Mid-South Conference announced the West Division football honors today as voted on by the MSC coaches.

Shorter College senior running back A.J. Cooley is the West Division's Offensive Player of the Year and Shorter senior linebacker Logan Lollis is the West Division's Defensive Player of the Year.

Both are repeat winners from a season ago.

Cooley averaged 129.9 rushing yards per game and scored 17 rushing touchdowns this season to lead the MSC in both categories. He eclipsed 200 yards rushing in three games this season, including a season-high 255 yards against Belhaven College.

Lollis recorded 104 tackles and six sacks this season. His 9-1/2 tackles per game ranks fourth in the MSC. He recorded double digit tackles four times this season, including a season-best 13 tackles against Belhaven.

Faulkner University's Triston McCathern is the MSC West Division Freshmen of the Year.

Lollis and Bethel College's Desmond Zollicoffer were selected the MSC West Division Champion of Character recipients. The pair earned the award -- as voted on by the conference's athletics director -- for their civic and servant leadership within the campus and community.

Lambuth University's Hugh Freeze was voted MSC West Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers. Freeze led Lambuth to an 11-0 record and won the West Division with a 6-0 record.

The all-conference team is selected by a vote of each division's coaches. Ties for all-conference are not broken. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

The student-athletes who earned the all-conference honors include:
