COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College is the top-seed and University of Rio Grande is the third seed in the 2009 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. The 31-team national tournament begins on Saturday, Nov. 21, at on-campus sites. The Blue Raiders host Lee (Tenn.) University, while Rio Grande hosts Lindenwood (Mo.) University in two of the 15 opening-round games. Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University receives a bye into the second round as the tournament's host. Lindsey Wilson (15-2-1) received one of the 24 automatic bids given to the conference, independent and unaffiliated champions. The Blue Raiders captured the Mid-South Conference Tournament title last week. The national tournament appearance is the Blue Raiders 17th, including 16 straight. Rio Grande (15-3-2) receives one of the six at-large bids. The tournament bid is the RedStorm's ninth straight appearance. Lindsey Wilson enters the tournament in search of its eighth national title, while the RedStorm goes for their second. Saturday's winners advance to the tournament's final site in Fresno, Calif. The second round begins on Nov. 30 with the championship match on Dec. 5.
