LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A pair of Mid-South Conference teams are among the 2009 Football Championship Series, the NAIA announced today. The 16-team single-elimination tournament begins on Saturday, Nov. 21 at campus sites.

Lambuth University -- the MSC West Division champions -- hosts University of the Cumberlands -- the MSC East Division champions -- at noon CT in Jackson, Tenn.

The first-round matchup marks the second straight season that two of MSC teams meet in the opening round. Cumberlands defeated Shorter College 31-7 last season at home.

Lambuth enters Saturday's game as one of six teams to finish the 2009 regular season unbeaten. The Eagles (11-0) are making their eighth Football Championship Series appearance and their second straight. Lambuth lost 65-48 last season in the opening round to host Lindenwood (Mo.) University.

Cumberlands (9-1) is making its fourth Football Championship Series appearance and their third straight. The Patriots won their first-ever FCS game last season before falling at University of St. Francis (Ind.) 31-20 in the quarterfinals.

Saturday's game is the 22nd all-time meeting and the first since the 2007 season. Lambuth holds an 11-10 advantage.

Kickoff is set for noon CT.
