GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande freshman Scott Bibby heads the 13-man all Mid-South Conference team announced today by the conference.

Bibby -- who scored a conference-best 53 points this season -- is the MSC Men's Soccer Player of the Year. The Doncaster, England, native's 23 goals led the conference and ranks fourth in the NAIA and his seven assists tied for sixth in the league.

Bibby was also selected at the MSC Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year.

Rio Grande's Jordan Lower was selected as the all-conference goalkeeper.

Lower's teammates, Marc Young and Phil Stansfield, University of the Cumberlands' Cedric Muteshi and Lindsey Wilson College's Chris Williams were selected all-conference defenders.

The all-conference midfielders include Cumberlands' Luis Souza-Marcelo, Lindsey Wilson's Lebogang Moloto, Rio Grande's Ederson Lopes and West Virginia University Tech's Mile Dragisic.

Bibby is joined by teammate Richard Isberner, Cumberlands' Igor Petsch and Lindsey Wilson's Chris Ochieng at the forward position on the all-conference team.

The all-conference team is selected by a vote from the MSC coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Lindsey Wilson coach Ray Wells was named MSC Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers after leading the Blue Raiders to the regular season championship.

Souza-Marcelo and Rio Grande's Nick Hewison were named the MSC Men's Soccer Champions of Character recipients. The pair earned the award -- as voted on by the conference athletics director -- for their civic and servant leadership within the campus and community.

Twenty-eight men's soccer student-athletes were recognized as Academic All Mid-South Conference. The distinction is reserved for student-athletes with a sophomore or higher class standing and a 3.25 and above grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
