LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Shorter College's A.J. Cooley, Bethel College's Sean Fraser and Campbellsville University's Jeffery Demary are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. The weekly conference award is the second of season for both Cooley and Fraser while Demary earns his first award of the season. Cooley rushed for a school-record 254 yards and four touchdowns to earn Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The senior running back from Bowden, Ga., averaged 8.8 yards per carry in Shorter's 55-42 win at Belhaven University. Saturday's game marks the third time this season Cooley ran for more than 200 yard yards in a single game. Cooley leads the MSC and is fifth in the NAIA averaging 117.3 yards rushing per game. His 13 rushing touchdowns also lead the conference. Shorter improves to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the MSC West Division on the season with the win. They close out the regular season at home against West-leading Bethel University. Demary recorded 11 tackles to earn MSC Defensive Player of the Week. The Columbia, S.C., sophomore safety, recorded 1-1/2 tackles for loss while helping the Tigers to a 31-29 win over Union College. Demary's 7.2 tackles per game ranks 14th in the MSC. Campbellsville improves to 6-4 on the season, including 3-2 in the East Division. The Tigers travel to Pikeville College for their regular season finale on Saturday. Fraser connected on a pair of field goals and converted all six point after attempts to earn his second straight MSC Special Teams Player of the Week award. The New Castle, England, senior kicker booted a school record 53-yard field goal to help the Wildcats to a 48-6 win over visiting Faulkner University. Fraser is second in the NAIA with 16 field goals this season. He leads the MSC and is fifth in NAIA with 76 kicking points. Bethel is 5-5 on the season and is tied atop the West Division at 4-1. The Wildcats travel to Shorter this weekend. MSC Players of the Week
