LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Georgetown College's Britney Chesser and University of Rio Grande's Matthew Spencer are the Mid-South Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The weekly conference award is the fifth this season for Chesser, while Spencer races to his first of the season.
Chesser captured the Late Knight's Run hosted by Kentucky Christian University to earn Mid-South Conference Women's Runner of the Week. The Louisville senior ran the 5,000 meter course in a time of 19 minutes and 31 seconds to beat the 21-woman field.
Spencer won the Red & White Invitational hosted by Rio Grande to earn the MSC Men's Runner of the Week. The Pickerington, Ohio, junior ran the 5,000 meter course in 15:28 to win the 26-man event.
