LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Bethel College's Sean Fraser, University of the Cumberlands' P.J. Hughes and West Virginia University Tech's Michael Scott are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 31, the conference announced on Monday.

The weekly conference award is third of season for Scott while Fraser and Hughes earn their first award of the season.

Scott threw for 294 yards and a pair of touchdowns to earn Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The Cross Lanes, W.Va. sophomore quarterback also ran for a score in the Golden Bears' 26-14 win over Faulkner University on Saturday.

Scott is third in the MSC and ninth in the NAIA this season averaging 260.6 yards passing per game. His 17 touchdown passes are fourth best in the conference.

West Virginia Tech improved to 3-6 on the season with the win. The Golden Bears travel to Pikeville College on Nov. 7.

Hughes recorded 14 tackles, including 2-1/2 tackles for a loss, to earn MSC Defensive Player of the Week. The Macon, Ga., senior linebacker led the No. 12-ranked Patriots to a 21-6 win over No. 24-ranked Campbellsville University.

Hughes leads the team and is fourth in the MSC with 9.2 tackles per game.

Cumberlands improved to 8-1 overall and remains tied atop the MSC East Division at 4-1. The Patriots travel to UVa.-Wise on Nov. 7 in their regular season finale.

Fraser made all four of his field goal attempts and connected on five-of-five extra points to earn MSC Special Teams Player of the Week. The New Castle, England, senior kicker made field goals from 42, 36, 30 and 27 yards to help the Wildcats to a 47-17 win over Kentucky Christian University.

Fraser leads the NAIA with 14 field goals this season and he is seventh in NAIA and second in the MSC with 64 kicking points.

Bethel is 3-6 on the season and hosts Faulkner on Nov. 7.
