LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of the Cumberlands' Lauren Kachel and University of Rio Grande's Bryce Wilson are the Mid-South Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The weekly conference award is the second of the season for Wilson and the first for Kachel.
Kachel finished 17th in the 244-woman field at the Wilmington College Fall Classic to earn MSC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. The Pickerington, Ohio, sophomore finished the 5,000 meter course in a time of 19 minutes and 38 seconds. Kachel helped the Patriots to eighth place team finish out of 25 teams that competed.
Wilson won the men's race at Wilmington with a time of 25:19 over the 8,000 meter course to earn the men's conference runner of the week. The Jackson, Ohio, sophomore crossed the line ahead of the 265-man field to help the RedStorm capture the team title.
