LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of the Cumberlands' Josh Laughlin and Georgetown College's Britney Chesser are the Mid-South Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week for the week ending Sept. 12, the conference announced on Monday.

Laughlin earns his second straight weekly honor while Chesser earns her first of the season.

Laughlin, a senior from Bellbrook, Ohio, finished ninth overall at the Queen City Invitational co-hosted by NCAA Division I University of Cincinnati and Xavier University to earn the conference men's honor. He finished the 5,000 meter course in a time 15 minutes and 58 seconds to finish fourth in the non-Division I portion of the race.

Laughlin helped the Patriots to a sixth place finish in the nine-team event.

Chesser, a Louisville senior, won the Centre College Invitational to earn the women's runner of the week award. Chesser finished the 5,000 meter course in a time of 19:31.13 to win by 49 seconds over her nearest competitor.

Chesser helped the Tigers to a second place finish in the eight-team field.
