DECATUR, Ala. -- The Georgetown College Tigers finished a special year with a 5-4 loss to Bethel (Tenn.) in the NAIA National Softball Tournament on Sunday.

Georgetown came back from a 3-1 deficit in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to go up 4-2 after five Tigers reached base on walks and were moved by a sacrifice bunt by freshman Jordan Clemons and a Whitney Ealey base hit.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, as Bethel tied things up in the bottom of the sixth with a run by Brittany Edmonds after she hit a single to begin the inning and advanced on two other Wildcat hits.

During the next at bat, the Wildcats brought junior Amber Metzger to the mound. After Pamela Hardesty grounded out, Kendall Lawson was hit by a pitch but was then caught stealing second, followed by a strike out to end a quick inning. Bethel's Whitney Taylor scored the winning run on an Edmonds base hit to leftfield.

The Tigers end the year with an overall record of 31-11-1 and lose four seniors: Samantha Barmore (pitcher), Jessica Craddock (first base), Sarah Gronefeld (catcher), and Victoria Witt (pitcher).
