COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Reinhardt (Ga.) and Southeastern (Fla.) are the favorites to capture their divisions according to the Mid-South Conference Football Preseason Coaches' Polls, MSC officials announced on Thursday.

The Mid-South begins its first season with three divisions on the heels of this past summer's expansion. Twenty football teams now call the Mid-South home -- the largest conference in all of collegiate football.

Lindsey Wilson and Reinhardt each received 36 voting points from the coaches within their seven-team divisions while Southeastern received 24 voting points within its six-team division to headline the preseason poll.

Coaches voted only within their division and were not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.

APPALACHIAN DIVISION

Reinhardt received six of the seven first-place votes to sit atop the Appalachian Division poll. The Eagles reached the NAIA Football Championship Series semifinals in 2016 en route to a 13-1 record. Reinhardt won the MSC West in 2016.

Pikeville (Ky.) is second in the Appalachian preseason poll with 29 voting points followed by Cumberlands (Ky.) with 23 voting points. Pikeville -- who received the final first-place vote -- shared the MSC East Division title last season with a 5-1 divisional record.

Point (Ga.) and Union (Ky.) are tied for fourth in the poll with 20 voting points followed by Bluefield (Va.) with 13 voting points and first-year program St. Andrews (N.C.) with six voting points.
