MOBILE, Ala. – Sixth-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) grabbed a 5-2 victory over 11th-seeded Mobile (Ala.) in the second round of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship on Wednesday afternoon at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.

The Blue Raiders (17-6) now face third-seeded Keiser (Fla.) in the national quarterfinals at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday morning.

Ivan Solans Diaz and Tomas Depiaggio got Lindsey Wilson on the board first with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles over Gabriel Cleto and Marc-Nunez Del Prado. The Rams (21-4) tied the match at one with Jonah Jakubec and Nick Van Amerom winning 8-4 at second-seeded doubles over Filip Persson and Javier Raya.

The Blue Raiders took a 2-1 lead after doubles with Denis Porcic and Alonso Tellez beating Mark Simons and Tim Buehler in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-4), at No. 1 doubles.

Porcic gave Lindsey Wilson a two-point lead to start singles after a 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles against Javier Ahumada. Solans Diaz won at second-seeded singles, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 to put the Blue Raiders ahead 4-1.

Mobile got a singles point from Buehler winning 6-4, 6-2 over Tellez at No. 4 singles. Depiaggio clinched the match for the Blue Raiders with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Simons at the third-seeded singles match.

With two matches still being played, Lindsey Wilson punched its ticket to the quarterfinals of the national tournament with a 5-2 win over the Rams.

The Blue Raiders have now won 12 of its last 13 matches with the lone loss coming last month in the final of the conference tournament to Campbellsville (Ky.), 5-4.

In the national quarterfinals, Lindsey Wilson is slated from face Keiser at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday at the Mobile Tennis Center.
