NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll
COLUMBIA, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) is the only team from the Mid-South Conference ranked in the top 25 of the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the second-straight edition of the ranking, the national office announced on Tuesday.
Campbellsville (Ky.) climbed into the receiving votes sections of the poll this week and is the only other conference team mentioned in the poll.
For the second-straight ranking period, Cumberlands is ranked inside the top 25 of the poll. The Patriots moved up five spots to No. 20 with 152 voting points. On the season, Cumberlands is 36-11 overall and leads the MSC at 12-3.
Campbellsville makes it first appearance in the receiving votes section of the poll this season. The Tigers picked up 22 voting points and is seven places outside of the top 25. Campbellsville holds a record 26-14 this season and is tied for second in the conference at 10-5.
The final conference weekend of the season features Cumberlands hosting Campbellsville for three games.
Oklahoma City moved up a spot and is ranked No. 1 after grabbing 467 total points and 16 of the 17 first-place votes. Former No. 1, Faulkner (Ala.), slipped to second overall in the poll this week after grabbing 444 points.
Oklahoma Wesleyan moved up a position to No. 3 with the final first place and 435 points, while Bellevue (Neb.) is also up a spot to fourth with 432 points. Central Methodist (Mo.) rounds out the top five after moving up five places to fifth with 383 points.
A panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents voted upon the poll.
The final regular season poll is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, May 2.
