JACKSON, Tenn. -- The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), a No. 3 seed, will advance to the second round of the 29th Annual NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championships with a 76-54 win over No. 6 seed Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) College. Amber Neace drained 5-of-11 three pointers on her way to a game-high 24 points.

Cumberlands opened the game with a 23-6 run, setting the pace for what proved to be an uphill battle for Lewis-Clark State for the rest of the night. The Patriots held a double digit lead for most of the first half, until the Warriors cut the halftime deficit to eight points, 38-30.

Neace opened the second half with a three-pointer for the Cumberlands to push the lead back to double figures. The Patriots extended their lead to as many as 24 points, 60-36, thanks to a 22-6 run over the first nine minutes of the second half. Cumberlands led by 24 points a second time, 74-50, before taking the victory, 76-54.

Neace for Cumberlands led the way with 24 points while Sonia Thompson scored 15 points off the bench. Madison Flowers added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lewis-Clark State was led by Sadie Short with 12 points and Alyssa Fierro with 11 points. Kirsi Voshell grabbed 10 rebounds for the Warriors.

The second round opponent for Cumberlands (28-4) will be the Wayland Baptist (Texas)/Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) winner on Friday at 8:00 pm. Lewis-Clark State ends their season with a 23-8 record.
