KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) took over the top spot at the Mid-South Conference Men's Swimming Championships after the second day of competition at the Kingsport Aquatics Center.

After trailing by 17 after action concluded on Thursday, the Lynx rallied to take a 53-point lead into the final day of conference meet.

Lindenwood-Belleville leads the championship with 364 points, while Cumberlands (Ky.) slipped to second in the standings with 311 points. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) remains in third place with 233 points, while Loyola (La.) is fourth with 196 points.

Rounding out the team standings is Campbellsville (Ky.) with 100 points and Bethel (Tenn.) with 86 team points.

The Lynx three of the seven events on Friday night, while the Patriots and Blue Raiders each took home conference titles in two events.

Lindsey Wilson won its second relay event of the championships as Jose Prado de Lima, Clemens Paetzold, Zac Patzer and Iker Larzabal won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:25.84.

Lindenwood-Belleville's Nico Tscherner set another championship record in the 400-yard individual medley posting a 4:01.28. His record setting time was more than seven seconds faster than the previous meet record.

Igor Dozortsev won Cumberlands' first event of the night in the 100-yard butterfly finishing the finals in 50.75.

Matija Luka Rafaj of Lindenwood-Belleville won his second individual title after finishing the 200-yard freestyle in 1:44.05.

In the first breaststroke event, Cumberlands' Jacob Smith won the 100-yard discipline with a time of 56.63, which set a new MSC Championship record.

Paetzold rounded out the individual events on Friday night winning the 100-backstoke in 51.15, which was the Blue Raiders first individual title of the meet.

The second day of action concluded with Lindenwood-Belleville's 400-yard medley relay team of Tscherner, Maxime Eekhof, Timo Billmann and Tim Schmalzreich posting a winning time of 3:26.66

Day three features the 100-yard and 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard medley relay to finish out the 2017 MSC Swimming Championships.
