CSCAA Scholar Teams

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Both the men and women's swimming teams from Cumberlands (Ky.), Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) were named College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams, the association announced on Wednesday.

A record number of 638 men's and women's teams from 394 institutions earned the Scholar All-America honor. The awards are in recognition of teams' that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 fall semester.

Of the six teams, Lindsey Wilson's women's team had the highest grade point average this past fall garnering a 3.45 GPA, followed by the women's team from Lindenwood-Belleville with a GPA of 3.38. Cumberlands compiled a 3.24 GPA in the women's side this past semester. Olivet Nazarene's (Ill.) women's team had the highest GPA among all NAIA teams at 3.62.

On the men's side, Cumberlands had the highest GPA from the MSC with a 3.18 GPA, while Lindenwood-Belleville had a 3.15 GPA and Lindsey Wilson compiled a GPA of 3.11. SCAD Savannah (Ga.) had the highest grade point average on the men's side this past fall among NAIA teams at 3.54.

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA - the oldest organization of college coaches in America - is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
