MSC Cross Country Championships | Men's Weekly Report | Women's Weekly Report

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The 2016 Mid-South Conference Men and Women's Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, at Phil Moore Park.

The 5,000-meter women's race begins at 10 a.m. CT followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 10:45 a.m. CT.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Campbellsville (Ky.) comes into the championship as the defending conference champion. Shawnee State (Ohio) and Cumberlands (Ky.) are the only two teams from the MSC mentioned the NAIA Poll.

Shawnee State has collected a pair of team victories this season, while Campbellsville is the only other program with a team victory this season.

The Tigers won the St. Louis Fall Classic two weeks ago, while the Bears won the Wilmington (Ohio) Invitational and the Mid-South Conference Preview.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

The Shawnee State women's team has won six-straight conference titles.

Shawnee State is ranked No. 10 in the latest women's national poll. The Bears are coming off of a second-place finish in at the Great Lakes Invitational.

Shawnee State is one of two teams in the conference with team wins after the Bears won the Mid-South Conference Preview. Life (Ga.) started the season with a victory at the Cougar Challenge.

The top 14 scoring individuals earn all-conference honors with the top finisher earning the conference's runner of the year award.

The winning team earns an automatic bid into the NAIA National Championships while the top four individuals not on the winning team also earn a berth into the national championships.
