LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of the Cumberlands junior guard Chad Byron is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the MSC announced today.

Byron helped the Patriots to a pair of wins on the week, including an 89-73 win over No. 3-ranked Mountain State (W.V.) University.

Byron finished the week averaging 15 points, 3.5 rebounds and five assists per game for the No. 11-ranked Patriots. He made 52.6 percent (10-of-19) of his shots to help Cumberlands improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Louisville native scored 15 points in the Patriots' 111-29 win over Johnson Bible (Tenn.) College. He scored 15 points and added five rebounds and nine assists in the Mountain State win.

Byron leads the Patriots in scoring at 15 points per game and is third on the team in assists (3.4 per game).
