KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Four Mid-South Conference football teams advance to the 16-team NAIA Football Championship Series set to begin on Saturday, Nov. 22 at host sites, the NAIA announced today.

University of the Cumberlands, Lambuth University, Shorter College and Union College make up a fourth of the Football Championship Series, giving the Mid-South Conference to most participates in the playoffs of any conference in the NAIA.

Cumberlands finished the regular season with a 9-1 overall record. The No. 8-ranked Patriots earned an automatic bid after winning the MSC East Division with a 6-0 record and enters Saturday's opening round game on a nine-game winning streak. Cumberlands is 0-2 all-time in their third appearance in the FCS.

The Patriots host Shorter at noon ET.

No. 12-ranked Shorter completed the regular season with a 9-2 record and is co-champions of the MSC West Division after a 4-1 divisional record. Shorter earned the West Division's automatic bid after having the highest ranking in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll of the three divisional co-champions. Saturday's game is Shorter's first-ever appearance in the FCS. The Hawks are riding a five-game winning streak.

Lambuth is making its seventh appearance in the Football Championship Series after receiving one of the six at-large bids. The No. 16-ranked Eagles are 8-3 overall and are co-champions of the MSC West Division. Lambuth is 6-6 all-time in the FCS and travels to No. 7-ranked Lindenwood University (9-1) in St. Charles, Mo.

Kick-off for the Lambuth and Lindenwood game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.

Union is making its inaugural trip to the FCS after receiving an at-large bid. The No. 11-ranked Bulldogs completed the regular season with a 9-2 record and finished second in the MSC East Division with a 5-1 record. Union travels to No. 3-ranked University of Saint Francis (10-0) in Fort Wane, Ind.

Kick-off for the Union and Saint Francis game is scheduled for noon ET.

The first three rounds are played at host sites. The national championship game is scheduled for noon ET on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Barron Stadium in Rome, Ga.
