COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Campbellsville University and Lindsey Wilson College will play for the Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament championship on Thursday after advancing today at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
Third-seeded Campbellsville advanced to the finals 4-3 in PKs over No. 2 seed University of the Cumberlands after the two teams played to a 2-2 double overtime tie.
Cumberlands led 3-1 in the penalty kick shootout before the Lady Tigers rallied with three straight. Campbellsville goalkeeper Brittany Spicer stopped the last three Cumberlands' attempts and even made a PK to send the shootout to extra kickers.
In the second semifinal, top-seeded Lindsey Wilson beat No. 4 seed Georgetown College 3-0 with three goals in the final 10 minutes.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Louise Christensen scored twice, including the game-winner.
Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson will play for the MSC Tournament title at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 13.
In between the two semifinal games, the 2008 all-conference honors were announced.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore forward Kimmia Parker was voted the MSC Women's Soccer Player of the Year. Christensen was named freshman of the year and Lindsey Wilson's Drew Burwash was named coach of the year.
Cumberlands' Rebecca Rube and Georgetown's Kristen Pratt were named the MSC Champion of Character recipients.
