LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College's David Mutuse and Georgetown College's Britney Chesser are the Mid-South Conference Runners of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Mutuse won his second consecutive race by winning the Southeast Classic to earn Mid-South Men's Runner of the Week. The Wote-Makueni, Kenya, native, ran the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes and 22 seconds to beat the 195-man field.

Mutuse -- who won at Wilmington last week -- helped the Blue Raiders to a fifth place team finish. The weekly award is Mutuse's third of the season.

Chesser finished third at Southeast Classic to earn the MSC Women's Runner of the Week. The Louisville junior finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18:56 in the 150-woman field.

Chesser led Lady Tigers to a sixth place finish in 19-team field. Chesser is a four time winner of the conference's weekly award.
