University of Virginia's College at Wise's Amondre Johnson and Jason Lovett has been named Mid-South Conference Players of the Week for the week ending Aug. 30.

The pair helped the Cavaliers to a 56-12 win over Kentucky Christian University in Morehead on Thursday.

Johnson, a Roanoke, Va., native, is the MSC Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman linebacker led the Cavaliers with seven tackles -- five solo -- to go along with his first career sack and a fumble recovery.

Lovett, a Spotsylvania, Va., native, is the MSC Offensive Player of the Week. The junior wide receiver set a single game school record with five touchdown receptions. Lovett recorded nine receptions for 232 yards and finished the game with 254 all-purpose yards.
