Also earning national recognition is Jeff Duda (Campbellsville) and Andrew Denton (Cumberlands).
 
Trevor Urbanick, a senior from the University of the Cumberlands, has been named to the 2008 NAIA Baseball All-American First Team. Also honored from the Mid-South is senior pitcher Jeff Duda of Campbellsville University, who received Honorable Mention honors.
 
Additionally, Andrew Denton of the Cumberlands was named to the 2008 Rawlings(r)-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team.
Urbanick, the starting left fielder for the Patriots, started all 55 games finishing with a batting average of .399. Collecting 73 hits, Trevor also recorded 16 doubles, 4 triples, 1 home run, and 32 RBI. In left field, Trevor tallied 78 put outs with only 1 error on the season. Urbanick led the Mid-South Conference in stolen bases with 62 out of 69 attempts for an average of 1.13 per game. These stats also earned him second place in the NAIA Division I for stolen bases and attempts as well. 
 
Duda, a right-handed pitcher for the Tigers, finished the year 6-2 with a 1.79 ERA, second best in the Mid-South. Opponents batted .182 against Duda, which ranked him fourth in the nation in that category.
 
The All-America Teams consist of 17 members on the First Team, 17 on the Second Team and an Honorable Mention (HM) Team, which is limited to 34 players. The HM Team is not position-specific.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2008 Rawlings(r)-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team, as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) All-America Selection Committee. A total of nine players were selected to the best in the fielding category. In only its second year, the Rawlings Gold Glove has honored University of the Cumberlands Patriot Andrew Denton (Hendersonville, TN) at the second base position.   

Sixty-three Collegiate Rawlings Gold Gloves were awarded in 2008, nine each at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, and NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III levels.

Denton swept through the Rawlings Gold Glove honors earning the award at the Mid-South Conference and NAIA Region XI levels as well. On the year, Denton started all 58 games. In his second base position, he had only 4 errors while turning 38 double plays. Offensively, Denton finished with a .307 batting average collecting 58 hits, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, and 39 RBI.
