The 2008 Mid-South Conference Football Preseason Poll has been released by the MSC. The poll, which ranks teams in both the West and East Division of the Mid-South, is voted on by the coaches. In the West, Bethel College was chosen as the coaches' favorite, while Georgetown College was tabbed as the preseason favorite in the East.
The Mid-South had another banner year in football last fall. Four teams - the University of the Cumberlands, Bethel College, Univ. Virginia @ Wise, and Georgetown College were consistently ranked in the NAIA Top 25 over the course of the season. The UC Patriots and Bethel Wildcats both advanced to the National Playoffs after winning at least a share of the Tom Dowling Trophy as champions of their respective divsions (Cumberlands shared the title in the East with Wise).
